NMMC recruits 30 medical staff for 3 new hospitals

The civic administration has recruited 30 personnel from 12 fields of medicine. The new recruitments are in addition to 39 officials taken on board earlier.

"The idea is to reduce the waiting time in the OPDs and streamline the rush for out-patient consultations," said chief secretary S K Srivastava. 
Navi Mumbai: The civic administration has recruited 30 personnel from 12 fields of medicine. The new recruitments are in addition to 39 officials taken on board earlier.The drive to recruit staff was started after the state government sanctioned appointment of 1,200 staff for the three newly-constructed hospitals in Nerul, Airoli and Belapur.“Vacancies for the post for medical officers are being filled, so that the required staff will be available when the hospitals are opened to public,” said an official from the health department. He added that the administration is working towards getting these hospitals functioning at the earliest. “In fact, the process of procuring instruments is in the final stages,” he said.Meanwhile, the administration also transferred 29 deputy engineers. “After deputing assistant municipal commissioner-level officials as ward officials and instructing executive engineers to function from ward offices, four deputy engineers have been provided in each wards,” said a civic official.
